What is Breathera Breathwork?
Breathera breathwork is a breathing exercise class compromised of a range of methods or techniques. A facilitator within the Breathera framework can be a yoga or mindfulness teacher who has taken extra training, learning about how breathing can bring altered states to both the mind & body. We work on regulating your nervous system to bring it from stress to the deepest of relaxation, this helps us to create balance within the habit of being able to calm yourself when there is any form of external stress which may come from the environment, relationship, physical recovery, work, or even self healing from an emotional trauma. The focus of the breathing sessions is to encourage clients to have a regular practice
Is Breathera Breathwork safe for me?
Breathing exercises are typically safe for almost everyone to learn & practise, with the exception that if you have a current medical condition(eg patients with high blood pressure), you should always seek advise from a healthcare provider to see if breathing exercises would be suitable for you as it may make certain health problems worsen.
Is Breathera same as Wim Hof?
Simplest answer is no. The requirement for Wim Hof breathwork method is to combine controlled hyperventilation with the cold to increase the stress response in the given moment & then learn to control or manage stress. What we do during Breathera, is to practice controlled breathing with deep abdominal breathing techniques with small breath focus on the holds, helping quell errant stress response. We also do a Ph test in some classes to let you see how much changes you can put your body through if your body is already in the acidic state to bring it to an alkaline state within just one session with breath control, which would bring an improved state of health! Breathera breathwork sessions are geared towards having lesser stress physically, mentally, & improving your awareness of your surroundings, starting & ending with your breath.
What can i experience during deep abdominal breathing?
Timed, rythmic, deep diaphragmatic breathing can bring about physical sensations(tingling) which is normal, sense of deeper relaxation, calm & clearer mind is typically what clients have reported. We would have you sit comfortably to learn to breathe deeply by taking deep breaths & be aware of the present moment, & how your body or muscles feel. We also encourage to have your eyes closed at some point to focus on your breath bring you to a heightened state, practising relaxation techniques which would lead to progressive muscle relaxation.
