Find reputable & good chiropractors in SingaporeIf you are looking for highly reputable & good chiropractors that are recommended by many, then you must read this article. With so many chiropractors in Singapore, how do you even know which is the best or highly recommended practitioner, if you have never been to one, or you’re looking to change to a new one, but still searching the internet? We have compiled a few things for consumers to consider before going to seek advise or see a new Chiropractic physician. This article isn’t endorsed, but to ensure a non bias compilation of information for the person looking only for the best and reputable chiropractic care in Singapore. The best chiropractors are usually two ways, they either are unheard of in the social media feeds, as they’re too busy serving time to treat people, or they are known on social media for what they do(it’s how they find new patients). However, which one should you try and see? Neither of them is worse or better, it’s more what you are as an individual. Some of us like the attention and don’t mind being in the limelight of the chiropractor’s treatment session while some of us prefer confidentiality and full attention during the session. The first one that never gets heard of but has a full practise and most probably fully booked with a long waitlist is strong in referrals from word of mouth and the latter would be great if you are quite the chatty type. In some cases, chiropractic care isn't just going to work as that is not what your body needs and some of those who have visited to get help with their pain, get disappointed when the pain comes back shortly after seeing a chiro. A good practitioner will always be realistic and walk you through the goals for both short term and long term and explain how you can manage it on your own as being reliant towards the chiropractor is not what any of healthcare providers goal. If they make you reliant on them, then there is something amiss, they are not making you better! Just like taking medications that don't make you feel better!
You are either in pain & looking for a good reputable Chiropractic physician or you believe that taking care of your spine is essential to your wellbeing. Either way, even if it's not mentioned on the reasons why you're looking for a chiropractor, you for one, are looking for someone trusted and reputable to help you with your body and well-being. Read the 5 things you need to know to look for in a chiropractor for the best and most reputable chiropractors in Singapore!
We at MSMC believe that in order to find a reputable chiropractor, you need to ensure that they have enough experience with treating and seeing patients that are out of their comfort zone. Which means, they see not only spinal conditions such as herniated discs, or more commonly known as slip disc, and that they are able to see patients from all sorts of conditions to frozen shoulder, knee pain, expecting mums, kids, sporting athletes and so on. It's a big myth that chiros are only able to treat spinal conditions, they are equipped with the same health sciences on anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and musculoskeletal knowledge with being a chiropractic physician! What makes them different is the principles of treatment towards a patient that walks in with pain. Chiropractor believe that the body's health needs a healthy spine, as it is, the spine is the innervation(control room)to everything in us, from the visceral organs(inside our stomach), to the muscles, and our sexual organs, which may be affected if the spine is not in the best alignment(s), which again would be affected by the muscles!
Breath
It's one of the more subtle things that we don't think about. It's also one of the few automated happenings in our body that is both involuntary(automatic) and voluntary(can be controlled). Adults, when resting, usually breathe about 12-20 times per minute, and over the course of a day, that adds up to 17,000-30,000 breaths per day — or more. In that it's about about 10,000 to 11,000 litres of air per day! Think about it, even when we sleep, we are still breathing, so why don't we notice or think about breath or breathing? If breath is related to so many aspects of our lives from emotional to physical being, which is our day to day living, shouldn't we be taking care of how we breath? By the end of this article we hope to have you know why breath works can be something you pick up and practise. Many of us cringe at the thought of having a chiropractor adjust the neck and spine, while some that's experienced a session of adjustment swears by it. If you have lower back pain, you are not alone. About 80 percent of adults experience low back pain at some point in their lifetimes. This article aims to provide educational aspects of what chiropractors do, what manipulation is and if you need to see a chiropractor. and other alternatives out there. What does a Chiropractor do? A "DC"(doctor of chiropractic), whose education typically includes an undergraduate degree plus four years of chiropractic college. Chiropractors base their treatments on the theory being that proper alignment of the body's musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, enables the body to heal itself without surgery or medication, and this is achieved through hands-on spinal manipulation. Manipulation is used to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury caused by a traumatic event, such as falling, or repetitive stress, such as working out or sitting slouched at a desk(sound familiar?). Chiropractic is primarily used as a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons, and have been used for maintenance of your body's wellness. It's sometimes used in conjunction with conventional medical treatment. What the crack was that? An audible cracking/ popping sound is usually followed by the chiropractic adjustment. That audible popping sound is known as cavitation of the joints. It's the same sound that happens when you crack your knuckles(there's been studies that suggest of long term cracking of knuckles showing no adverse effects but more studies needs to be done in this area). Research on spinal manipulation
There are tons of research out there to suggest that spinal manipulation may help with certain conditions and there's ton of the polar opposite as well, so with both sides of the coin available, consumers would have to ultimately make the choice to see a chiropractor or try an alternative. Injuries and severe mishaps from manipulations are very rare under the hands of a qualified and experienced practitioner. Whatever it is, always seek someone whom is a licensed chiropractor with experience treating your condition, and understands your concern about having your spine manipulated. Ask these few questions to yourself:
PosturePosture is merely a reflex of your environment that you put yourself in, most of the times. If you see a long distance runner, they have different body types than a runner, a sedentary person who works in the office will have different posture than a person working as a tour guide, a powerlifter stands erect and a person who is an introvert is slouched over and so on. Exercise is invented to help minimise the lifestyle habits of the modern age of computer and sedentariness, you know, lifestyle habits. Posture tells us a few things as well if you are sad, happy, scared or grieving etc. To a trained eye, posture always draws a line of tension and could sometimes affect your health and well being, as, if your posture is not optimal enough for blood to flow in the body, parts of wherever isn't getting enough blood, now, gets suffocated and can't function well enough, causing you pain and in the long run, a manifestation of illnesses or diseases(health conditions).
Sports massage. Many of us whom have heard of it and to some who's even tried it, know from others that it is a form of deeeeep tissue massage which is painful. Is this type of massage painful? Let's breakdown the fundamentals of what makes a sports massage and why you should get it..or not. Definition of sports massage It's a form of massage targeted towards the recovery of muscle soreness, prior to a sporting event or to prevent injury, by increasing blood flow and promote freedom of muscle's movement. Usually, it's more utilised by people who are slightly more active in sports and athletics as it helps mostly with recovery and injury management/ preventative. Sports massage has three basic forms:
What can sports massage help with?
What can i expect during a typical sports massage session?
As with any form of therapy, the session would usually have an assessment on your movements and questions about what you want to achieve which may take anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes depending on how complex your condition is. Typically, the session are anywhere from 30 minutes - 90 minutes, again depending on where you go and the therapist that is working on you, your goals, everything will usually be decided prior to the appointment. A form of emollient or oil is used to help with the techniques along the muscles. The therapist may use one or more of the following body parts to help achieve different depths of targeted tissue work and the positions for them to best leverage on your body parts:
9/9/2019 0 Comments Looking for a massage?Sports, weekend activity with the company, running for the bus, carrying your kid, some of life's event can make us pretty sore from not doin them often enough. While most of us quickly look for a massage to rid of this soreness, many of consumers don't realise that massage, by itself, is only a temporary relief by relaxation and a slight increase of blood circulation which will lead to less of the soreness, but, there's a small but, massage does not target the muscles, tendon or the connective tissues to be able to restore the normal length of your range of motion. Massage is a very nice way to unwind after a long day or stressful week, but if you have to sort some of your posture or pains or even for sports specific goals, then you need to stretch using a system called FST(Fascial Stretch Therapy).
If you have tried or am thinking of running to get fitter, you're on the wrong side of the road. Don't take it the wrong way, running is the most basic, simplest, least expensive and primal to us. It's what we are born with, to be able to run that is. However, in the current era of sedentary lifestyle, smart phones postures and all other lifestyle habits that we get ourselves into to not moving more but lesser, we need to learn to strengthen your body prior to running. As it is, most people will just run and not be aware of the proper weight loading or transfer of force and it usually rides up to the ankle, knees and hips, causing pain, wear & tear and soon enough, pain sets in into your life making it somehow acceptable when you get older. Age and pain are not inseparable. When we get older, we don't really have to have pain as a natural subset of living beings. Instead, pain can be easily be intercepted by learning some of the more powerful and fool proof guiding principles to keeping an old injury away or staying injury free. Remember, pain and age doesn't have to be co-related. So read on to learn more on the 5 guiding principles and how to follow it closely! PRINCIPAL 1
Resistance training is when you use any form of resistance from your own bodyweight(calisthenics) or in the gym having weights as a tool. The list below is a non exhaustive list(to give you a firmer idea) of what resistance training may include, type of training, etc:
Which one of you reading this believes that money comes first as without it, you can't really do anything? While the statement is true, it's not entirely true. Here's why, if you had all the money in the world and you can't move your body, then what can you do with the money? While most of us think money is the driver for everything in our lives, it's not the most important, rather it's secondary. Primary thing to take care of is our wellbeing, a sense of fulfilment, feeling joyous, self acceptance/ self love and free of disease is number one on our list. We spend so much time, emotional attachments, money, efforts to save money to invest in so many things in our time line but rarely people actually think of "when sickness and disease happens to me" what can i do to recover from it fast enough? not many of us take the time to invest in our health or wellbeing, just look at the buffet restaurant and look at the gym or running parks during lunch time or long weekends. If your body and mind can function at its best, wouldn't your work be showing that as well, your sales are increasing, customers leave happier, relationships are made rather than a customer, post sales support for products are not a chore to talk to previous customers, you come up with a great intervention for the health sector, you start inventing things, well you get the idea. Our brain, just like anything in life, deteriorates with time. Which brings us back to the point of doing one activity a day to keep the doctor away.
It's never too late to start this practice than to never start at all Start your day by introducing yourself to a new route to walk to and start choosing one or make your day interesting by doing them all:
If you cycle, choose a safe but different path. If you take a cab, choose a different path or go halfway and then walk or take a train to work, just something new and not on your routes that us familiar to you. 8/26/2019 0 Comments In pain and looking for a massage?

It's great to have Tui Na session if you want to have yourself checked for any health conditions and pain. Usually done slightly deeper into the soft tissues, movements are fast and used with a combination of oils and motion. 4. Aromatherapy Massage
Though not many of us have tried it, this is one of the more highly addictive types of massages and it can get quite costly for sessions. This is because of the essential oils they are using(yes they can get costly) and other aromatherapy smells that puts your mind at ease all while getting a massage from the therapist. Session usually last anywhere from 60-90 minutes. Plantar Fasciitis If you have pain at the bottom of your feet upon waking up and find it hard (painful) to walk or pain just walking most times that you have to hobble or change your walking gait then you most probably have plantar fasciitis. Plantar Fascia is the largest ligament in the human body! We pay no attention to it as we walk thousands of steps, run around, play sporting activity, jump up and down but yet only when it is painful. By this time you have to see how long the signs have been going on without any form of treatment by a qualified professional or DIY rehab program. Usually when there is pain waking up and you experience this for the very first time it's considered acute and when you have had it before but you just went on with life and then it comes back, that would fall under chronic RSI (repetitive strained injury). It's not that uncommon actually with Plantar fasciitis, it's estimated to affect 1 in 10 people at some point during their lifetime and most commonly affects people between 40–60 years of age but that doesn't mean the younger and active ones don't get it just because they're younger...and active. The plantar fascia is a thick webbing like ligament which help to absorb and transfer force and too much weight or frequent sudden deceleration on your feet can cause inflammation, which the term Plantar(feet) Fasci(connective tissue)itis(inflammation) is referred to when you have been diagnosed with pain at the bottom of your feet. There is not one cause that may cause the inflammation. Below is a non- exhaustive list of what may have caused your plantar fasciitis:
