What Is An Aerial Stretch Class?
Aerial(aka antigravity) offers different types of aerial classes such as Aerial fitness, Aerial yoga, & stretch. Just like any other stretch class, you attend a stretch class to, stretch, improve strength, & flexibility of your body, but with using an aerial hammock as support. The class promotes movement practice through many levels of engagement that you don't think of which is explained in more detail below. Although there are many aerial classes out there, the aerial stretch classes we have incorporates anti gravity exercises, where students will spend some time off the floor with the use of the hammock to help with a variety of stretches.
Do you have to be flexible for aerial silks?
The answer is, it depends. It solely depends on what you are trying to achieve during an aerial fitness class, an aerial yoga, aerial stretch, & so forth as some move will need students to come close to contortion(usually advanced levels classes). Flexibility will also play a role as to what poses you can achieve, & if you have a limited range with your motion, the less likely you'd be in a pose that requires you the, flexibility, however, when that happens, the instructor will be able to modify to your either the hammock for more supports, or your positioning. While many people think it's only for gymnasts, our classes are made progressive pace so that your body can adapt slowly not only within the course of one session but in the space of a few sessions helping improving posture & form. You will simultaneously improve strength during class as you make certain transitions from one stretch to another, off & on the floor
​Why should i attend an aerial stretch session?
An aerial stretch session is not all about stretching as then you would be missing out on other aspects of fitness & health. You will also be working on increasing or improving :

- mobility

- decompression of joints
- fitness
- technique on stretching a specific targeted muscle group (eg shoulder)
Who can join this stretch aerial class?
While the class is aimed towards everyone of different levels from clients with little to no experience, a training athlete, to everyday people, however, this is cautioned for those already in the mobile range of motion as it may cause injury(instability) from being hypermobile & stretching further. If you are ready to experience a stretch class with your personal hammock, learn different stretches, have fun with exercise, this is something you need to come for & grab a partner. With a small class setting, our instructors teaching will be able to give you their full support getting you off the ground, working on techniques, give you essential tips on the various level of flips (inversions) to help with the full decompression of the spine, & lastly to help you improve fitness through a stretch class with hammocks.
What to wear for this Stretch Aerial class?
As it is, with everything, & anything aerial class (unlike pole), learners are advised to wear leggings that cover the whole leg. This is to keep two things in mind, less likely to have a hammock burn from friction, & gives you greater comfort while you work to transition from one pose to another.
