If you do a quick search query on Google on aerial in Singapore, you will mostly find aerial yoga classes in yoga studios(we've done our homework for you) Many studios in Singapore that offer aerial classes, offer aerial yoga which involves a sequence of yoga postures, & not everyone knows what the difference is. We help you understand what you may be doing wrong for your body as classes can be specific to your goals & help you get there faster. As a sports medicine centre in Singapore, all our teachers that are attached to our aerial fitness studio have a minimum requirement of 500hours of yoga teacher training, & experience, & they go through a rigorous training programme via our partnered education provider as an Aerial Specialist Teacher. There is more importance to safety instructions than to just get into a pose for social media that is how our beginners learn faster than most yoga studios that offer aerial yoga classes in Singapore. An aerial fitness class in our studio takes you through a sequence of aerial stretch using the hammock to warm the tissues up for aerial work, to improve balance, & work different muscle groups for a full body workout. If you have any muscle imbalances, our AF class is more catered to improving your body specifically by engaging the muscles that we rarely use & expose your body through many challenges that you experience each class. An aerial fitness class can sometimes be referred to as flywith fitness, yoga swing(with webbing straps), anti-gravity yoga, Sky fitness, etc.

Can beginners do aerial yoga?

Aerial yoga classes are usually sought after for those who have frequent yoga practice/ yoga experience in a normal yoga class. You would be advised to have some level of yoga practice as most poses are a modified version in the hammock to achieve the yoga posutres mid-air. Due to the nature of the poses, it may require you to have some level of flexibility, otherwise, it will be a hard time just trying to get into a pose & you will stress yourself out(defeats the purpose of doing yoga!)

Keep in mind that in Singapore, except us, there are no class/classes explicitly for beginners to start their journey into doing aerial with hammock with an instructor. Unlike an aerial yoga class that will leave you repeating sequences, our classes at the studio are dynamic, & involves different styles & ways to improve flexibility, & improving strength toning your muscles as you have fun!​

Is Aerial Yoga/ fitness dangerous?

All aerial classes lends a certain risk of falling of the hammock if you are not conscious & don't follow safety instructions whilst in the hammock doing aerial yoga poses. All studio Singapore, there hasn't been anything serious that's happened during any yoga hammock class. As our teachers are trained to handle beginner's who goes through anxiousness, nervousness, & phobias, you can expect nothing but an absolutely safe environment for progression of aerial classes with us with plenty of tips all the time.

Does aerial yoga help lose weight?

As aerial yoga uses gravity to deepen the pose or to stretch using the hammock, all aerial yoga class are quite low on the metabolic rate & while it may help you in the beginning, the body adapts quickly enough as the sequences or yoga poses stays the same unlike using the hammock for a workout.

Best Aerial Teachers in Singapore

All our aerial specialist teachers hold a minimum 500 hours from indivualised platinum yoga school that are with a yoga alliance(USA) outside of Singapore yoga. They undergo extra training on aerial hammock learning basic to advanced class, with a special focus on teaching beginners with little to no experience with hammock, &  continuing education in sports medicine to ensure a safe environment for everyone. 

Aerial Camp for Beginners

If you want a stress free group classes in a fitness space/ gym, & with the guidance of one aerial instructor throughout 8 weeks(once a week) to gradually get better with your fitness, join our aerial fitness class where you will get very familiar with the fabric working towards mastering an intermediate sequence at the end of the 8 weeks. The sequence(s) taught during the aerial beginners course will not be taught in any of the classes.
