What is Movement Therapy?
Movement therapy simply means exploring movements, mindfully, with intent. Exploring movement helps facilitate many things and encompasses many backgrounds of practice, from yoga, contemporary dance, Tai-chi, dance, primal movements, and internal exploration. Movement is fundamental to human life. Movement is life, and life is movement, and without movement nothing can flourish. When life has a constant flow of movement both with internal and external environment, creativity increases, life flourishes and vitality increases. Movement therapy also helps to facilitate and increase awareness of your own body's abilities, limitations, and can be used as an active meditation practise to learn how to quiet the mind.
