What is the Stretch Mob class?
The session uses your bodyweight as resistance training to mostly work with your lower body(eg glutes, hips, spine, & core) but may include some upper body movements as well. You will be taken through stability, mobility, balance, & flexibility challenges, all of which will work your deepest stabilising muscle groups, tendons, & even ligaments. You will learn how to increase muscle length, gain back the function, & motion of your body, lowering the risk of sustaining injuries when doing activities such as strength training, running, cycling, & any high impact moves. Research has it that the benefits of frequent moving & stretching your muscles, & joint's range of motion will improve, enhance your posture, decrease soreness(improving recovery time), increase muscle endurance(long-standing/ distance), improve the lymphatic system, & increase your metabolic rate at rest. This is an active class & welcomes beginners with little to no experience to mobility or stretching class, athletes, long-distance runners, age groups, & postures!
Is stretching a form of exercise?
In this class, it will be a workout as you moderate & control your joints into circulation, training your core, coordination, breathing techniques, & focus on slowing down movements, which means an increased intensity that uses high energy consumption & burns some serious calories when done right in the gym with an instructor
Are there other studios that offers similar classes?
While we'd like to think so, unfortunately there is no other studio offering a specific stretch & mobility class like what we do. Our class is a targeted flexibility training to helping you gain more range of motion, & it is open to anyone who wants to gain back control of their body through any range of motion, improve posture, burn some calories, tone your body, & improve your wellbeing. This class was more focused on mobility than just stretching, which I found refreshing and good for me since I cramp easily and am very desk-bound. Getting my muscles and joints moving in new ways felt like an important stepping stone to training for deeper stretches. Jab was also very patient and attentive, I would recommend his class to anyone.
