Cupping therapy for Stretch Marks

Stretch >> Marks

Have you ever wondered why stretch marks exist? Stretch marks are normal. They're just the body's way of making way for new, stronger skin. We have a tendency to stretch as children and that, coupled with our rapid increase in weight during adulthood, results in visible lines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding tend to result in more skin stretching than normal. This is because of the increase in estrogen.

Another example is when one has an increase in weight, muscles become sore and inflammation tends to occur, and when the skin becomes stretched for prolonged period of duration without being able to recoil back, it will experience tearing, which a lot of the new elasticity is lost. Losing or gaining weight too fast or sudden will cause skin to stretch faster than it can help heal or ease the skin into stretch & recoiling back. As a part of this process, this is why stretch marks occur.
The reason stretch marks occur so easily is because they happen when the skin becomes less elastic. As you age, your skin will lose to retain its elasticity because it won't stretch as much as it used to. It can also be caused by pregnancy, rapid weight gain or loss. So that can change the possibility of preventing them.

We all need a certain amount of stretch in our bodies and in our skin. However, if you've had stretch marks as a child or even if you didn't, then you may be somewhat immune to them. That means that you should be doing a little more stretching and you should be washing your skin properly. A well-kept skin can help prevent them.

Self care

There are certain nutrients that help us keep our skin's soft and they include keratin, peptides, and glycosaminoglycans. What you need to know is that although you may have been having bad habits like brushing incorrectly, you may still be absorbing these into your skin.

When you wash your skin, make sure to have enough scrubbing to remove the trapped dirt and oil. This is because when we try to wash each layer of our skin, & then using antibacterial soaps & gels that don't get at the roots of the problem. By washing properly, you can get rid of the dirt that might get into your pores and therefore into your skin. If you are not careful about it, then you might end up soaking up these substances.

We also need to know that while you may be aware that you need to get rid of the dirt on your skin and you need to get rid of those cosmetics, you need to be more careful about the natural oils on your skin. In fact, you need to ensure that you massage the skin in between your toes in order to prevent oil build up and to improve circulation. Massaging yourself is also going to help to improve blood flow, which is needed by the skin to lubricate and hydrate itself. So that is another reason why you need to massage your skin regularly.

Using a moisturiser to cleanse the skin is also going to help to get you good skin condition. It's important to cleanse and moisturise your skin, because if you are not, then this may lead to lower hydration of your skin,.

Cupping therapy

cellulite treatment before and after
Picture from a study done on cupping therapy & cellulite
Cupping therapy improves the stretch marks & cellulites within a few successful sessions. It's non invasive & gentle. Though a slight discomfort may occur from the current cellulites that have been there & now pressing into the superficial nerves surrounding the skin. Take the pinch test & feel the difference. Pinch the top of your hand & now find a fatty area with a higher fat content(cellulite area) & feel the difference. The top of your palm is less painful & the area with high fat content is much more painful. Why this is so, it's because the fat cells are pinging against each other that now it compresses the cells around the area that nerves, arteries, veins and everything else has no space to "breathe & flow through" causing a disturbances, which may lead to inflammation or heightened sense of your cutaneous sensory system. The lymphatic system may also highly likely be compromised of being able to do their job! It's known that if your lymphatic system is not fundtioning at their best, you will store more fats!

Cupping helps facilitate more oxygen rich blood to the area of cellulites & increase the fat cells to loosen up & eventually used up as energy from all the movements facilitated via the cupping therapist.

"Patients’ grade of cellulite on thighs decreased significantly following dry moving cupping in this study "

How long is a session?

A cellulite cupping therapy session ranges from time of 30-55 minutes with the body parts that is to be worked on, along with your conditions. Too much work may cause more inflammation, too little work mean nothing will change. It is important to find a cupping therapist that has enough experience & knowledge on the physiology of the body in order to have successful successive session for the treatment of cellulites.
