What is stretch therapy?

Most of the stretch systems such as Dr Stretch, Fascial stretch therapy(fst), & Functional Stretch therapy(fst) uses stretching techniques & methods uniquely to their goal, however there is a single stretch system that allows for more complete assessments, & approach to your body(more below). Stretch therapy sessions are a one-to-one service, with you being on a treatment table to help with improved blood circulation in muscles, decrease pain, & improve flexibility.

If you have tight connective tissues that's causing frequent headaches, low back aches, you may want to find a centre that specialises in helping you release those tissues & stay in the normal ranges of motion, this is mainly due to mechanical overloading from posture or simply put your centre of gravity has changed & your body is trying to keep up the load as much as it could possibly do. Unlike Dr stretch which can be found in many locations in Singapore, functional stretch therapy(at our sports medicine centre) uses a comprehensive musculoskeletal(muscles/ bones) assessment to take into account your current pain/complaints:

Most people(anyone) that are seeing other health providers in Singapore often come to us for an initial assessment to learn more about how they can better manage pain, or improve their posture. How to become a Functional Stretch Therapist?

Students go through a 7 weeks course learning deeper anatomy, physiology of stretching, & the principles behind how to stretch different musculoskeletal conditions safely. Along with that, students need to undergo & clock 30 hours of practise before going through a practical & theory exam to qualify. The benefits to being a functional stretch therapist(fst) is that you can offer a complete stretch therapy system to help posture, improve blood flow from blood vessels, stretching problem areas such as low back shoulders knee pain, etc. Help give your clients their body back by increasing/ improving flexibility using neuromuscular techniques stretches(unlike dr stretch).
