Find reputable & good chiropractors in SingaporeIf you are looking for highly reputable & good chiropractors that are recommended by many, then you must read this article. With so many chiropractors in Singapore, how do you even know which is the best or highly recommended practitioner, if you have never been to one, or you’re looking to change to a new one, but still searching the internet? We have compiled a few things for consumers to consider before going to seek advise or see a new Chiropractic physician. This article isn’t endorsed, but to ensure a non bias compilation of information for the person looking only for the best and reputable chiropractic care in Singapore. The best chiropractors are usually two ways, they either are unheard of in the social media feeds, as they’re too busy serving time to treat people, or they are known on social media for what they do(it’s how they find new patients). However, which one should you try and see? Neither of them is worse or better, it’s more what you are as an individual. Some of us like the attention and don’t mind being in the limelight of the chiropractor’s treatment session while some of us prefer confidentiality and full attention during the session. The first one that never gets heard of but has a full practise and most probably fully booked with a long waitlist is strong in referrals from word of mouth and the latter would be great if you are quite the chatty type. In some cases, chiropractic care isn't just going to work as that is not what your body needs and some of those who have visited to get help with their pain, get disappointed when the pain comes back shortly after seeing a chiro. A good practitioner will always be realistic and walk you through the goals for both short term and long term and explain how you can manage it on your own as being reliant towards the chiropractor is not what any of healthcare providers goal. If they make you reliant on them, then there is something amiss, they are not making you better! Just like taking medications that don't make you feel better! Are all Chiropractors the same? Most chiropractic schools learn the same principles in terms of studying human anatomy, physiology, pathology, spinal manipulations & much more, with four years in total. Some chiropractors continue their studies to pursue post grad to enter a specialisation in sports, orthopedic, geriatrics, etc. Chiropractors, however, cannot prescribe medications nor are they able to do surgery, as it’s not in their scope of practise, they are more hands-on with soft tissue and joint manipulations. Furthermore, some chiropractors may take a post-graduate certificate study in(the list is non-exhaustive):
While in practise, chiropractors meet different types of patients and their keen interests of treatment change how they assess, along with the modalities they use and treatment approach. If you are looking for a chiropractor to help you with sport-specific performance, you would be better off with someone who actually works with more athlete based practise rather than a generic chiropractor, & if you are an expecting mum, find the one that has specialisation with it, as it takes them a little bit more time in school just to learn something specific to help enhance their practise on their keen interest of people they want to see. If you haven't read on what the chiropractors do and if it's what you need, then read this article here. Is the chiropractor selling? A chiropractic physician is obviously passionate about what they do and that should be the end of it. A good product will always sell by itself, and in this case, a healthcare provider will never upsell whatever a patient doesn't need. A push in sales or any form of hard-selling is never a pleasant experience and as a consumer, you need to ask why and to always seek advise from another chiropractor or medical professional if you are being forced to buy packages. If you ever come to this point where you are being sold a package that hasn't been explained thoroughly why you need them, seek a second advise elsewhere. Are chiropractors doctors? They graduate as doctors of chiropractic degrees, but they are not medical doctors. The initials “DC” refers to Doctor of Chiropractic. Medical doctors as mentioned above can prescribe medications and specialists can do surgery, while the Chiropractic physician diagnoses and treat musculoskeletal conditions with more emphasis on the health & mobility of the spine. The studies that comes along with the credential of being a chiropractic physician, is in the studies that they have done to be conferred into a DC(doctor of chiropractic), just like other doctors in various specialty and alternative medicine eg Doctor in nautropathy(DN), Doctor in Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine Doctor and so on. Are they registered? Chiropractor is a protected title and they would go through rigorous educational standards and clinical rotations, however, still, it's your job to make sure that you check before visiting a chiropractor with the body or associations that they are licensed and registered accordingly. It may be for your insurance claims purposes or it may be to ensure that you are in the right hands. After all, you would check a product's details before buying right? What is the pricing for an average chiropractic session? Pricing for most of us is what makes or breaks how often we are able to go for treatment or maintenance to upkeep our well being at an optimal point. The first consultation is always the highest, as you would be expected to go through a comprehensive assessment, testing, medical history taking to ensure that chiropractic is the right fit for your needs at the current moment and that the physician can help with it. Price ranges from clinic to clinic, being, $120 - $150 and it may take about 30 minutes- 45 minutes for the first consult depending again on the complexity of your case. A follow-up session will range from around $80- $95 and the session may range from 15 minutes-25 minutes, depending on what you present each visit. There are always bargains and deals to look out for and if you search for chiropractor discounts online, you will have plenty to choose from. As always, do you diligence before consulting a chiropractor. All in all, a chiropractic physician is always having your best interest at heart, they are there to always help give advise to see how they can play a role in your wellbeing.
