Stretch therapy in Singapore is increasingly growing, seeing more clients as working from home becomes a new normal now. When that happens, movements decline & tightness or a new pattern emerges from the body being in a constant or more exposed posture, all of which, will cause aches turning into pain from repetitive motion with bad biomechanics.
Many people who are in pain, don't actually realise that they can find services such as functional stretch therapy(fst), where the therapist would apply scientific stretching techniques to both manage & improve muscles' elasticity(aka connective tissue) throughout your whole body. When your muscles are more elastic in form, the risk of injury lowers naturally because there is more range of motion(increased flexibility)
What does a Functional Stretch Therapist(FST) do?
If you would have guessed, the main part of what they do is to stretch your connective tissue! Our stretch therapists at our studio go through a rigorous 8 weeks of training before taking an exam, before which, they have to take a series of theory & practical tests to qualify as an FST. They help you increase your range of motion by not only stretching but mobilising your joints to get into the deeper fascia yet gentle enough to help the muscles release. The session is not only targeted at muscles, but other systems as well which include other important, yet underlooked systems:
